About Marine DB

Founder, Lead Consultant
I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, sailing on the Puget Sound and eating oysters out of the bay. I now live in San Diego and spend as much time as I can in the water, sailing, surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving.
I graduated from Gonzaga University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Honors and have been working in industry for the past 8 years in robotics, automation, and mechanical design.
From my discussions with industry members, there is a lack of kelp and seaweed specific tools and solutions. The seeding process is time consuming, the harvesting process is labor intensive, and the sector growth is limited by skilled labor shortages. I founded Marine Design and Build to help develop those tools, technologies, and systems that increase productivity, reduce producer burden, and support the growth of the regenerative ocean farming sector.
I believe that through systems like regenerative farming, we can reduce our impact on the world (environmental impact), work to right some of the imbalances that we've created in our world (social impact), and support the creation of jobs and development of communities for our future. That's what I hope to support with Marine Design and Build.
